Sunshine Blogger Award 2

Hey y’all! So I was nominated for the Sunshine Blogger Award by Edge, you guys should go check out his blog here.
And onto the questions:
1. Have you ever ridden a motorcycle?
-Nope, I’ve ridden a dirt bike but never a motorcycle. I don’t know anyone with one, and you need a motorcycle license to drive one so…
2. What’s the scariest thing you’ve ever experienced?
– Well other than the one I don’t want to share, probably waking up coughing up water because I passed out in the bathtub when I was home alone. That’s the only one I can really think of right now. Or when I got bad hiccups and it stopped my heart when I was home alone again. All of those situations xD
3. If you ever had to kill some how would you do it?
-Well it really depends on the situation, but okay I have the perfect answer. You take an empty syringe and put the air into the vein in between the toes. The body will mimic a heart attack. And even if they think it’s murder, it will be very difficult for them to find the tiny hole there.
But if you have to get rid of a body, acid is obviously the best option.
4. Would you mind posting the 11th picture you have?

*Lucky number 11!* Okay.. fine. This picture is really embarrassing, I am in the middle of dying of laughter, as is Lauren hence the reason she’s blurry. Ryann must have told a joke mid-picture.

5. What’s the meaning of life?
– Now I could be a smart alec and put 42, but I won’t. The meaning of life is to gain knowledge and return to our Heavenly Father (personal beliefs obviously)
6. Would you rather have terrifying nightmares every night or see creepy things during the day that aren’t there?
-Well seeing as I have chronic nightmares (It’s a thing) I’d rather not have both, so I’ll stick with nightmares.
7. If you had to live in a movie what movie would it be?
-I thought I wouldn’t have an answer for this, but I actually have a few. Phantom of the Opera for sure, the Avengers, Mulan, and Lilo and Stitch.
8. Would you be willing to go on a scary adventure with me?
-Do I even have to answer this? I already bought a plane ticket ūüėČ
9. Can you describe in 3 words who you are?
-I was going to be a smart alec again and list my name but, y’know Internet safety… so protective, sassy, and a deep-thinker.
10. What’s the name of the last song you listened to?
– The Way You Look Tonight by Frank Sinatra. I’m picky about this type of music, but I either can’t listen to it or absolutely love it.
11. If you had to be killed by someone, how would you want them to go about doing it?

-Hmm, well¬†euthanization would be the least painful. However, I’d have to say in a duel with someone who used to be friend but became my enemy, so that when they kill me they’re stuck with unending grief. And with a sword, so I have time to give a speech while I’m bleeding out. Wow I sound insane.

I nominate My Crazy Obsession of Books 16 ,  Ruth, Inf, Colby, Fibit, Sunny, Liv, and Dzieyy,

That’s all I got sorry peeps. I’ve spent WAY too much time on this post already. And I still have to clean my room, do homework, and I want time to practice piano…

Friends, Football, Freaks, and Free Pie

Hey y’all! I have to leave in about 15 minutes to my grandmas house because the whole family is meeting up for dinner. My mom and I made her famous sugar cookies into super cute Halloween and fall shapes for all the kids to decorate. It’s a tradition, and I love it.

Anyways, I am here to tell you what happened last night. It all started at the football game, Utah was playing Arizona. My brother didn’t come to this one, so I invited Lauren. ¬†Arizona scored on the first play. So the entire crowd was in a bad mood already, but then we started doing good again and the STUPID FREAKING REFEREES were ridiculous! There were 2 times when we could have made a touchdown but Arizona’s player blocked our receiver illegally. And apparently the refs didn’t know that its called a pass interference. They were so dumb, we were all chanting, “Refs you suck, refs you suck” over and over again. We started scoring because we rock, and Arizona was being ridiculous (they play so dirty man) and the guy who sits behind us was calling them desert chickens because they were being cowards and it was hilarious. In the end, we won! And it was our head coaches Kyle Whittingham’s 100th career win!! (Sidenote: We are on our 5th string running back, because the first one retired mid season and the other 3 all got injured yesterday, pray for us)

Okay, football rant over xD

So after the Utes game we decided to go to Denny’s and it was around¬†12:30 am.
It was completely packed so Lauren and I went to the bathroom on when we came out there was this lady in the hallway thing laughing hysterically. My mom couldn’t get in the bathroom because it wouldn’t open and so she asked me if I locked it. And I was like, “yes mom I locked you out of a public bathroom” and the lady cracks up even more but it’s all chill, we just go back to our seats all normal like and order our food.

So at our table was my parents, me, Lauren, my dad’s friend, and his son.

To the left of us was a table of extent drunk dudes singing Katy Perry and one of them kept going off about avocado so when he got his avocado he was literally fist pumping and they kept saying the weirdest things. And one had a patch on the back of his Jean jacket that said “Alcoholica”

Then all of a sudden a waiter comes around and gives Lauren and I pie and tells us it’s from the lady in the bathroom. So we look up and a few tables over she’s staring at us. So we’re weirded out but eat it anyways and she continues go stare at us.

And then right across from us is a table of parents with a guy about our age with his Utes hoodie  pulled up over his nose and he glared at us the entire time. It looked like he wanted to hit me or something.

And then the table on the left of angry boy had 2 ladies and one guy. Throughout the night the 2 ladies kept looking at Lauren and I too. So we’re all getting kinda weirded out and have no idea what’s going on and it was just really weird but later on my dad heard one of the ladies tell her friend to stop looking at us because we were probably only 16.

By the time we left I was extremely creeped out and just wanted to crawl into bed. But at least I had a funny story to post…. ( the life of a blogger…)

I’m headed to my grandma’s to eat, thank goodness, I’m starving! Be on the lookout for 2 more posts I have planned! Love y’all! -Aspen AKA The Author

Our Own Frequency

I’m drowning in your alphabet, and suffocating on my own words.

We both speak the same language, but English doesn’t make sense when it’s you saying it .

You don’t hear me no matter how loud I yell. No matter how close we are.

We scream and scream until our voices become their own frequency of incomprehensible static.

So now I’m quiet. I convey my emotions though glares and grimaces.

I don’t have to ignore you because we now we never speak. If I hide behind my hair, you will always keep walking.

The less eye contact the better. The less sad smiles the better. The more I forget you exist around me so constantly, the better.

Star Valley-Part 2!

Hey y’all! So this is what I did on Sunday in Wyoming! So to start, my grandma grew up in what the entire town calls “The brick house”. It was basically a monument for all of Star Valley and the neighboring towns. About two years ago, some of my family made the horrible decision to sell the property. Now instead of a beautiful brick house, is a natural gas station. A. Gas. Station.

This gas station to be specific:

We used to camp out in the backyard and in the morning we’d sneak through the trees on the left to Burger King for breakfast. Even though we couldn’t camp there this year, we still kept up the tradition.

After breakfast we visited my dad’s uncle Donald in a rest home- and he’s super funny. He loves to go- “Aw hell” but he was telling us about how the cops used to tell him to stop shooting the skunks or they’d put him in jail and they still recognize him now. When we left he told my dad that he would never forget him- not in this life or another which I thought was very cute.

After that, we went to visit my dad’s great aunt on his other side, Polly. She fell and broke her hip so she was in the Star Valley Hospital- we couldn’t stay long but she asked my brother if he brought her a banana. He had promised that he would bring her one the last time we saw her in a hospital down in Utah a few years back. He didn’t remember.

My favorite thing that we did though- was hike the Intermittent Springs. My family and my aunt Michelle and her husband Josh hiked up to this beautiful water fall thing that my dad loved as a child. About every 10 minutes or so it completely stops and then after 15 minutes starts again. We were there just at the right time so we got to watch it start!

This next pictures are a sort of before and after of my brother and I. We’re standing/sitting on the same place in both of them, just 10 years after.

After our hike, we went and visited some places that our families lived. One of them was the farm my other great grandma grew up on. It’s in a extremely tiny place called Smoot. Right before this we stopped at the green house again and found these super cute little cats- but on the farm we found 4 other itty bitty kittens.

This is the farm:

And that was the end of our trip! I hope you made it to the end of another really long Wyoming post! If you didn’t see the first part- check it out here!

The Connecting Link

It’s been 1 year and 1 day

since you left and we stayed

There’s been hatred and betrayal

since we lost you and each other

The truth finally came out blatant and clear

When you were gone, and so was the hesitation

We’ve learned that self-seeking people  always blame others

Now that the connecting link doesn’t exist

In 4 days it will have been 3 years

Since we lost the first one

3 years that I have wondered how a family created by such a strong link could be broken,

When you left.

Homecoming Week!

Hey y’all! So I actually planned writing and posting the 2nd part to my Wyoming trip but I felt like doing an update/ rant post.

This week (well tonight) is homecoming so during the week we dressed up depending on the theme for the day. Tuesday night Ryann and I went and saw Storks as I mentioned previously, but it was a lot of fun!

On Wednesday we didn’t have school so Ryann and Bex came over and we just messed around an made cookies. For young womens later that night we went to Gardner’s Village which is this cute little place with shops that they decorate with tons of life size witches for Halloween. We did the scavenger hunt for all the witches and it was super fun!

Thursday was the parade where all of the clubs from school do floats which was pretty fun. The best part of the night though was when the whole stadium was singing along to High School Musical. At the end was the burning of the CH (Our school letters) which is a really cool tradition, along with fireworks.

Last night was the homecoming game and since we suck at football it was laaaame. The best part was the halftime performance. By 3rd quarter Lauren and I left and went to the Pop Shop. I got the white gummy bear which has mountain dew, mango, pineapple, and ice cream puree which was actually really good.

Today (well and last night) I got to babysit my cousins! It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve seen them, and  they’re all so cute! The baby’s favorite thing to say now is, “I pretty”.

Abigale my little Monkey

And then tonight was the Utes game against Cal and ugh it was soooo dumb- and I’m not even saying that just because we lost. We had 2 timeouts with 20 seconds left in the game. Our coach asked the refs for clarification on time but they thought he said timeout, and they took our timeout anyways. Which is RIDICULOUS- they should have taken it back! And when we used our last timeout a player got hurt, which means that we should have gotten our timeout back. But we obviously didn’t.

Although other than that our offensive coach is horrendous– he was having us PASS when our running game is what was working! And at the end they put in Moss when our other player was the one who was actually getting yards!

Anyways, I had a pretty fun weekend. Tomorrow is general conference which means instead of going to church I get to stay in my pj’s at home and watch church on TV! We usually make cinnamon rolls so I’m looking for to that- and listening to the Prophet and Apostles speak.

Tell me how you’re weekend went down below! Love y’all! -Aspen AKA The Author
